What we took over Sunday was distributed yesterday in the Fruitvale area on Hwy 80 and they are putting another l... I may very possibly be making a run to Emory on Saturday while doing a chair delivery. I just touched base with D&D Rustics in Tyler and the VFD in Emory. Tyler: diapers, wipes, baby food, hand sanitizer, work gloves, brooms, rakes, shovels, individual snack items (granola bars, power bars, etc.), pain relievers, muscle rubs, and any non-perishable food items. Emory: non-perishable food items, individual snack foods (granola bars, energy bars, etc), pain relievers, muscle rubs, hair brushes. As I was leaving the distribution center at the Van Zandt Fairgrounds this morning in Canton, I was approached by an 80 year old woman wearing a back brace. Thinking I worked there she told me,"I'm sorry, I'm recovering from a broken back and I can't do any more. Please consider how you can help. Whether it's donating items, volunteering on cleanup crews, volunteering to sort and distributing supplies, or volunteering to help those furnishing meals to the families and relief workers.
