The MilkBar's main studio features a 24' x 32' sprung marley dance floor, with white walls and high sloping ceilings (between 15' to 26'). It's a quiet reflective space in an old industrial gem with views of the Richmond hills. Adjoining the main space is a 1000 sf space that includes a workshop, storage, bathrooms, kitchenette, and seating / green room area. We are the home studio for Mary Armentrout Dance Theater, video artist Ian Winters, a thriving artists residency program, the MilkBar salon program and a number of other east bay dance and performance groups. A basic sound system and 8 channel lighting set-up is available for renters with an option to rent the space set-up for video / photo shoots.

Our rental focus is on providing space for rehearsals, film & video shoots and workshops along with our artist residency program. Our rates are extremely affordable ($20/hr and $17/hr for renters using 10 hours or more a month). We are located just off of 580 near the Richmond Bridge / Pt Richmond and Bay Trail, and approximately 1 mile from the Richmond BART. New prospective renters should make an appointment to meet with either Mary or Ian for an orientation to the space.
