I copied his worn out slipcovers in 12 oz. washable white cotton denim. For the speakers, I deconstructed one of the black dust covers and used it as a template to create protective covers in the same white denim. For this slipcover copy, I used 12 oz. Taupe Cotton Bull Denim from Big Duck Canvas. Taupe is one of their new colors, which is a chalky grey-cast neutral. Canvas made from 100% cotton, other natural fiber and cotton blends makes a casual, versatile slipcover.  In my free Ebook, All About Canvas for Slipcovers , I feature many different types with useful facts and tips for picking the best one for your project. One of my new favorites is Vintage Stone Washed Canvas in color Grey Stone, a cotton poly blend with a subtle distressed finish. Stone wash gives this thick, durable fabric a soft, broken-in feel. The little bit of polyester content minimizes wrinkle. For best results, preshrink this canvas to work out residual shrinkage. Washing & drying the yardage will also enhance the softness. A quality heavy weight linen makes a beautiful and long wearing slipcover. One of my favorites is Manchester Natural Brown. This linen has a European look & feel that never goes out of style. 

I especially like the authentic flax color, a warm neutral that works with everything. Manchester Linen is thick and weighty. It’s best suited for classic, washable slipcovers that have simple details — an ideal choice for my customer’s pair of Cisco sofas. An old slipcover that has its original fit still in tack is my favorite to copy. It makes the best template — no fit issues.  My customer’s silk cover was one of those.  The fabric was worn and torn in spots but that didn’t interfere at all with making a good fitting slipcover copy. My customer found exactly the same drapery weight silk used in the original.  How lucky was that!?  By using a good template and same fabric, I was able to recreate the fit, look and function (including a full lining) of the old slipcover. When my customer received his new slip he replied: “Very impressed. Thanks for the beautiful work.”  Happy customer, happy me. Dimensions: Fits 32" to 44". Dimensions: Fits 60" to 72".
