If you plan to collect tickets for an  SCG event, the box offices between gates B and C are wheelchair accessible. The SCG participates in the NSW Companion Card Scheme, offering free adjacent seats for patrons requiring a carer. To make use of your Companion Card, notify Ticketek when buying your ticket and bring the card with you to the ground. The card must be presented on request or the appropriate ticket fee applies. Viewing spaces accessible for wheelchairs or mobility chairs are available in all stands within the SCG Members' precinct. These spaces offer adjacent companion seating for Members or their guests.

Patrons with disabilities can be dropped off at the northern turning circle on Driver Avenue near the main Members' entrance (Gate A) if coming from Moore Park Road, or the southern turning circle on Driver Avenue opposite the Entertainment Quarter if coming from Lang Road. These areas can also be used for pick-ups but this section of Driver Avenue can be closed for up to an hour after events to allow for the most rapid clearance of cars from the car parks.

The nearest taxi rank to the grounds is located in the Entertainment Quarter. Numerous bus routes service the event day bus stop on Driver Avenue between the SCG and Allianz Stadium. See our Transport page for details. Access to all the wheelchair spaces in public stands (including private suites and corporate entertainment areas such as Club SCG) is via Gate E off Driver Avenue. Ask one of our ushers to direct you to the appropriate nearby lift for accessing the upper levels of the Brewongle, Churchill or Trumper stands. If you are making use of the accessible spaces in the Bill O'Reilly Stand or bays 2, 3 or 4 on the Don Bradman Stand concourse, ask an usher for directions via the Victor Trumper Tunnel. Members can access their disability spaces from gates A or J. There are lifts in the MA Noble Stand Atrium for accessing the disability spaces on levels 2 and 4 of the Noble and Bradman stands. The gap between the Members and Ladies pavilions provides wheelchair access to the disability spaces in those stands.

There are separate lifts for accessing the suites and corporate entertainment areas on level 3 of the Bradman and Noble stands. Guests to these areas with mobility disabilities should enter via Gate J and ask staff there for assistance. One of them will escort you to the closest appropriate lift. All toilets in the Don Bradman, MA Noble and Victor Trumper stands have two wheelchair-accessible cubicles. There are also disabled toilets in other areas close to the wheelchair viewing spaces. The exception to that is the Members Pavilion and Ladies Pavilion, where the age and heritage nature of these buildings prevents us making them fully accessible. If you are using the wheelchair spaces in the heritage pavilions, there is a single accessible toilet at the back of the Members Pavilion. Otherwise the closest accessible toilets are in the adjacent MA Noble Stand. It's a similar situation with food stores, bars, merchandise stands and other facilities such as ATMs. These are all accessible in the new Member stands, the Victor Trumper Stand  and the areas of other public stands accessible for wheelchair viewing, but access is again limited to these facilities in the older pavilions.

Folding and Unfolding your Wheelchair Folding the wheelchair Fold the foot plates up. Hold the vinyl seat in the middle at the front and back; pull upwards until the chair is fully closed. Unfolding the wheelchair Push down and outwards on the side edges of the vinyl seat (where the upholstery is fixed to the metal frame). Use the palms of your hands to prevent your fingers being caught between the seat and the frame. Getting in and out of the wheelchair There are many different ways to get in and out of your wheelchair.  Your Occupational Therapist will have shown you the most appropriate way depending on your needs. Remember: Always put on the brakes when getting in and out of the wheelchair. Always lift the footplates up before getting in and out of the wheelchair. Always ensure the seat belt is fastened when sitting in the wheelchair. Loading the wheelchair into the car Fold the wheelchair as outlined. Please note: these wheelchairs should not be used in wheelchair taxis due to lack of headrest/lock down points

Lifting the wheelchair Apply the brakes to prevent the wheels from spinning when lifting. Hold the stable parts of the frame when lifting. For safety, break the lifting into two steps. Lift the wheelchair to the edge of the boot Slide the wheelchair into the boot Your occupational therapist will advise you on the best lifting technique for your wheelchair. Remember safe lifting principles: Bend your knees, not your back Keep the load close to your body When possible lift the wheelchair with two people The Occupational Therapist who issued your wheelchair was Your wheelchair is due to be returned by __________________________________ Kerbs, Steps and Ramps Pushing the wheelchair up a Kerb •          Place your foot on the tipping lever and tip the wheelchair off its front wheels, onto its back wheels. •          Push the wheelchair forward, up onto the kerb and rest the front wheels down onto the kerb.

•          Push steadily and firmly up the kerb (large wheels will roll up). •          Ensure the wheelchair is safely on a flat surface. Pushing the wheelchair down a kerb •          Reverse the wheelchair to the edge of the kerb, with the rear wheels positioned squarely to the kerb •          Standing at the rear of the wheelchair the person assisting should lower the rear wheels down the kerb slowly. •          Once clear of the kerb, slowly lower the front wheels, using the tipping lever. Cleaning and Maintenance •          Always store the wheelchair indoors, in a clean, dry place. •          Wipe over the upholstery with a damp cloth and mild detergent.  Dry well to avoid rusting of screws. •          Check tyres, brakes and upholstery regularly.  If there are problems please contact your Occupational Therapist. •          Use a bike pump to pump up tyres as required.
