This dates to the 1930s and is fully functional. All hand welded and fully adjustable. The original fabric had the Cramer name as well but was totally shot.

This chair is reupholstered in a soft leather feel Naugahyde similar to the original.  The chair has been cleaned and waxed. I do not repaint my pieces unless stated . Read some about Cramer chairs and find the company made seats for the military . The Air force and navy all had them .  Do some more research and find another like this , I can’tVintage rattan can be hard to find and is worth the effort to repair and refinish. Rattan, a grass in the palm family, grows in the tropical secondary growth forests of Africa and Asia. Most rattan used in furniture comes from Indonesia, although its increasing scarcity means new, quality rattan items may be hard to find. That makes the vintage pieces worth restoring. Rattan is very durable, but can become worn like any older furniture. If you have a damaged or dingy rattan chair, table or chest, there are specific ways to refinish it for years of functional and decorative use. Care and Cleaning Vintage rattan ages attractively, even more so when it's well cared for.

To restore rattan that has been neglected, rub just the suds from a gentle cleaner or oil soap swished in water on the furniture with a soft cloth. Use only the suds to avoid damaging and splitting the fiber by wetting it. A soft toothbrush works well to dislodge any dirt or dust trapped in the joints and creases of curved areas. Dust the cleaned rattan at least weekly, and keep it from drying out with occasional rubbings of good quality lemon oil. Stain and Sustain Faded or damaged areas on a rattan piece are unsightly, but you can spot-repair them with care -- or entrust them to a rattan specialist for more complex restoration. Stained rattan that has developed scraped or bare spots may be rubbed gently with shoe polish to blend in a small bit of new stain. This works particularly well on wrapped joints where curved rattan is bound together with leather or cane thongs. Do not strip rattan like old wood furniture; the fibers would be damaged and splintered by stripping. Instead, a rattan crafter will blend new areas of stain to create a seamless, harmonious new finish that mimics or deepens the original hue.

Paint and Protect Older rattan isn't all in attractive collectible condition -- if you find interesting and sturdy chairs and tables at a yard sale that are in need of a makeover, paint them. Wash down really dirty pieces quickly with vinegar and water, and dry them immediately. Fill any cracks or holes with wood filler; glue loose sections and wrappings at joints before painting, and then spray the pieces with several coats of oil-based primer before spray-painting the final color. Allow the rattan to dry thoroughly between each coat. Finish with a protective cover of clear polyurethane or non-yellowing lacquer. Rattan Therapy Replace any loose, broken or damaged binding with thin strips of leather or flexible cane -- don't use plastic unless you want your vintage pieces to look like cheap knockoffs. Splintered sections may be repaired with furniture glue; keep rattan out of direct sunlight to avoid drying and splitting the fiber. For the same reason, don't leave rattan outdoors and unprotected, because the fiber will break down much faster when exposed to the elements.
