Workspace of the Week: Ikea hacked This week’s Workspace of the Week is Pinkernaute’s pristine office: This space is stunning and I can barely believe that it’s all Ikea. It must be a delight to work in this well-organized office. Pinkernaute’s notes with the images give further details: I used BESTA shelves and VIKA BYSKE legs, to create my ideal desk. The desktop is made from 2 hollow doors that I assembled, veneered, stained and varnished. The doors are IKEA TOMBO doors with a peacock wallpaper from Ferm Living. The Trollsta sideboard [on the other side of the room] was one of the main inspiration for this room. I wanted black elements in my office, since computers and screens are so often black. Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen;
if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.So, this is probably the hardest one for me to answer. I am a little torn on it. From the very beginning it wasn't the exact look I wanted. Once we got it into our kitchen though I have to say I really enjoyed it - it was so easy unloading dishes right onto it and was lots of fun styling the top seasonally. hanging egg chair ebayHowever, it did cramp our kitchen a little more than I wanted to admit and I think practically speaking the sideboard I made fits better in our kitchen makes the kitchen feel a good bit larger in real life (I know it's hard to get a feel for that in photos). lazy boy chairs for bedroomFor the year we used it I did like it and probably would have recommended it. dining chair covers taupe
It started getting wobbly though right before we moved it out. I tightened up the screws a bit and that probably would have fixed it. And the little side rails started falling out if it got bumped. Basically, for the price I would say I liked it. And up until quite recently I would have said that I would recommend it. Once it started getting a little wobbly though that makes me a bit unsure if I would recommend it or not. chair for sale dublinI think I probably still would. buy folding chairs sydneyBut I would have someone stronger tighten all the screws.ikea egg chair saleWe did an IKEA hack on this. You can read about the whole process here. Would I recommend them? We used these at our old house in the kitchen and bathroom and now one is in the girl's playroom and I just added the other one to Jason's kitchen (I should have updated photos soon!)
And that's it for all the main things I can think of. I also have quite a few little accessories like the pitcher shown below which I use all the time, little white lace vases, and gray dishes. I have been very happy with all of my smaller purchases and haven't had any issue with any of them. We also have the Ritva curtain panels in most of the rooms of our home and for the price have been very happy with them. Eventually I wouldn't mind switching them out for nicer ones but for now I really can't beat the $24.99 price! Well, I think that's just about everything! Please keep in mind these are just my experiences with each item. I am sure there are plenty of people who have had completely different experiences or opinions on different items. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!If you are new here you can find a full before and after tour of our home here in this post with details and links to paint colors and source lists for all of our items: And you can also look under the for more info on our home and for more details and source info and paint colors on
This entry was posted on April 3, 2014. If you want to replace a cylinder on your office chair, or return or ship it, you may need to know how to disassemble your chair. If you have the proper tools, disassemble is not difficult. These instructions explain how to remove a cylinder. When it comes to removing the chair arms and back, that is easier and since each chair is different, we won’t try to explain that process here. Extend the chair as high as it will extend, and remove the back and the arms. Then flip your chair upside down. Use a hammer or mallet around the cylinder rim that protrudes from the center of the base. Be careful not to use the mallet on the cylinder middle or tab. Hammer all sides numerous times. This is easier if someone holds up the chair for you. 5-10 hammer hits should cause the chair to fall from the base. This leaves the cylinder attached to the under-chair control. Apply your lubricant where the control mechanism meets the cylinder  and let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes.
Use the pipe wrench or vise grips to grasp the cylinder as close as you can get to the control mechanism. Use an assistant or your body weight to prevent the seat from moving. Push forward on your vise grips or pipe wrench. After 5-15 seconds pushing, it will twist. When you feel it twist, the cylinder should come off easily. Total time is usually 10 or 20 minutes, as long as you have the right tools. After you remove the original cylinder, replace that with a new one and assemble the rest of your chair as you did the first time. Package your chair as it was when you received it. You may not need the original box, but usually you will. Include all protective packaging or pack with bubble wrap. You will be liable for any damage in shipping. > "ikea" in Classifieds in Kingston Use Distance Search to find Ads based on where you are and how far you want to travel.
