Wall-Mount 3-Piece Storage Set with High-Heel Shoe Rails Wall-Mount 3-Piece Storage Set with High-Heel Shoe Rails Storage for your chic essentials deserves to be both functional and glamorous.(Image credit: West Elm) Remember the episode of "Sex and the City" where Carrie Bradshaw goes to look at apartments, and the only one she can afford has a tiny closet, and she's like, but where do the shoes go?, and her agent is like, you get one of those racks that hang on the door, and Carrie is like, ew, no? Well, if you've ever been a renter, and you have more than two pairs of shoes, you've probably been there. The good news is, shoe storage doesn't have to be ugly. We've searched the internet for the prettiest and most practical solutions for all your shoe storing needs. 10-Compartment Canvas Hanging Shoe Organizer at The Container Store This hanging shoe bag gets the OK from us because it's wide enough for you to place your shoes side by side, instead of jamming them into a narrow cubby.

This is a good solution for a really, reall small closet. TJUSIG Shoe Rack at IKEA Just a basic shoe storage rack that gets the job done and isn't too ugly to look at. Perfect for adding more shoe storage in your closet, underneath your clothes. Over-The-Door Shoe Rack, 36-Pair at Amazon If you must embrace the necessary evil that is the over-the-door shoe rack (sorry Ms. Bradshaw!), this is the least offensive option. It doesn't look terrible (no vinyl pockets here), and you can squeeze a lot of shoes onto this sucker in a little bit of space. 8-Pair Shoe Organizer at The Container Store A super basic, inoffensive style — and you can stack more shoes (or handbags, or what have you) on top to keep everything neat and tidy. AmazonBasics 50-Pair Shoe Rack A rolling rack for the person with a serious shoe collection (and a little spare floor space). TRONES Shoe Storage Cabinet at IKEA IKEA's TRONES shoe storage cabinets can be used anywhere in the house — including grouped together in the entry, as in this setup seen on Dekorum.

BILLY Bookcase at IKEA Here's something that isn't intended to be shoe storage at all, but will still get the job done beautifully: IKEA's BILLY bookcases. (You can see them in action here and here.) BILLY comes in lots of different styles and colors to accommodate your needs, and the shelves can be adjusted for different kinds of shoes (like flats and boots).

These boots are killer and definitely runway and carpet worthy - they look like something that Chanel would have put out. They are a size 7.5 M, have 2 1/2 heels and are really sexy on. They are classic vintage haute couture boots and are 2-die-4. You won't find any like these so get them before someone else snaps them up. They are in worn once condition and are for slender legs. The ankles measure 9 1/8" circumference, the calves 12" circumference and these go up over the knee a tiny bit. Toe to heel measures 9 1/2 inches. Photos don't do these boots justice whatsoever!!!! Made of very high end fine leather that is extremely soft. A recent statistic forced me to take stock of my own shoe obsession. According to ShopSmart magazine, the "average" woman in the U.S. owns 17 pairs of shoes. That's how many shoes women I know take on vacation. I won't tell you where I rank but it's a big enough number, hovering near three digits, that has inspired me to create clever shoe storage solutions for the "above-average" woman:

1. Take a Seat: An old flea market chair, with the seat removed, gets a second life holding up to 20 pairs of your favorite high heels. Add a few removable clear hooks (I hate putting nail holes in a chair), and you've got a handy spot to hang hats and handbags. 2. Shoe Bar: For your precious pairs that look more like art than shoes, display them out in the open. Inexpensive and lightweight polyurethane molding is easily cut to fit. Removable hanging strips (the kind with "teeth") are strong enough to attach the molding to the wall. A one-foot long piece of molding will securely hold three to four pairs of heels. 3. Shoe Box: For sneakers, work shoes and pairs not pretty enough to display, tuck them away in Pantone tin boxes. 4. Shoe Screen: Attach muslin pocket shoe organizers behind a paneled screen and change out your pairs for the season. 5. Shoe Tag: Instead of attaching the standard Polaroid photo shoe labels on boxes, take artsy snaps of a particular feature of a shoe -- maybe a great heel or a bow -- and print it out onto Avery clear adhesive sheets and attach it to paper tags.
