Miguel Meirelles hand-picks French antiques as well as decorative and quirky items. These French antique pieces are displayed mainly in a ‘as-found condition’ with full restoration and conservation services available at our Malvern premises. Periods and styles include Louis XIV to Napoleon III, as well as Art Nouveau, Art Deco and more. Miguel Meirelles trained as a conservator of antique furniture at the “Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro” in Florence (1978-1980), and today runs his Melbourne antiques retail shop at the same premises as his conservation workshop.

The workshop is kept busy working on items that Miguel imports from overseas, and also on furniture belonging to local collectors and museums. For a French bedroom we offer Louis beds and bedheads which come in a polished or painted finish and can be made with cane inserts, wood paneling or upholstered. A Louis bergere, salon chair or end stool combined with Louis bedsides and chest of drawers can complete the room.For the dining room we offer a range of Louis, French provincial, farmhouse and refectory dining tables. We also carry a large selection of Louis, French provincial, farmhouse ladder-back and upholstered chairs. Sideboards, display cabinets, side servers, consoles and more are also available for the dining room.Within our French Lounge selection we offer the French daybed, bergeres, Louis armchairs and sofas, Louis coffee tables and side tables, French mirrors and a large selection of French Aubusson style rugs. Our selection of French chandeliers, wall lights and French framed prints will complete your setting.
