Award Winning Small Batch Craft Are you 21 or older? Truly a gorgeous view! Our home away from home! We saw the advertisement for the carriage house and booked it for our anniversary vacation, not knowing what to expect -- but it totally exceeded our expectations. The view is even more incredible than in the photos. Beautiful sunrise each morning, and skies full of stars each night. The property is wonderfully close to Nubble Light, Long Sands Beach, and Cliff Walk, which we highly recommend visiting for the views. The Stuarts were gracious hosts, and we thank them for making their carriage house available. We will definitely be returning for our anniversary next year! We stayed at the Carriage House Apartment from 8/30 to 9/6/2014 and enjoyed every minute! This apartment is directly on the ocean with beautiful views in every direction. The apartment has everything you need. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, silverware, pots/pans, utensils, coffee pot, toaster, etc.
Towels and other linens are provided, which was a nice touch and saved us from having to bring our own all the way from PA! There is a washer/dryer, which was very nice to have. cheap fabric swivel chairWe spoke with the owners a few times throughout the week and enjoyed visiting with their scotties. office chairs for knee painWe've made trips to York eight times over the past ten years and each time stayed in a different hotel or bed and breakfast; brown leather chaise lounge chairs indoorshowever, when we go back again, we will stay at the Carriage House Apartment. cheap kitchen chair slipcovers
We were VERY happy with our stay and definitely recommend this property. So much better than a hotel room since you have all the comforts of home AND the best view right out the sliding glass doors! patio chair cushion measurementsWe ate at several restaurants and recommend Fox's Lobster House, Lobster Cove and you don't want to miss Ruby's Wood-Fired Grill (we ate their three times!). wooden rocking chairs made in usaHannafords is a great place to get needed groceries and you MUST stop at When Pigs Fly Bakery and purchase their Cranberry/Orange bread - absolutely delicious! best home office chair ergonomicYork, Maine is a very special place to us and now the Carriage House Apartment is our "go-to" lodging during future stays. distressed leather club chairs for sale
A special "Thank You" to our hosts. It was certainly a pleasure to meet you both. We looked at the pictures online but they don't do the place justice. It's comfortable, convenient, and cozy. ikea dining chair coversLong sands beach is a short walk away and not so crowded which is perfect. Yard not huge but the kids had a great time regardless. Owners are wonderful and we had everything that was needed minus the food. Will return again for sure My wife and I were looking for a last minute getaway and we were fortunate enough to find this place! We left the kids behind and spent 5 days. It is a cute carriage house with spectacular view of the ocean. We typically stay busy on vacations but looked forward to our "down" time in this place - slide open the sliding glass door and take in the view and the cool salty air. The amenities were nice - not luxury, but very comfortable. We enjoyed just crashing in the evening, watching a movie and a glass of wine.
This place is perfect for a couple's getaway but probably not for the kids. Access to the ocean itself is very limited and there is no yard to speak of for kids. It is just south of long sands so it was nice after dealing with the crowds wherever you go to find a quiet place. Toward the end of our stay, we would take morning walks to the harbor and found a great ocean walk nearby - great pic opportunities. The interior was a little dated, but absolutely functional. It was not dirty but the furniture needed a vacuuming. We spoke with the owner once on the phone and once during our visit - seemed very, very nice. Without a doubt, we would go back again! There is just so much to see and do in the area. Check out the York Harbor cliff path. Long Sands is 2 minute drive, Nubbel Light is 10 minutes with traffic and Short Sands is 10+ minutes. fortable, clean, and spacious. The view was outstanding! We could see both the Boone Island Lighthouse and the Nubble Lighthouse from the sliding glass door and deck, plus a stunning view of the sunrise each clear morning, too.
The view at night was equally spectacular--stars and moon over the water--gorgeous! It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Everything we needed was supplied in the kitchen which gave us the option of cooking a meal if we wanted. We had many opportunities to enjoy fabulous area restaurants, too. We took many walks on Long Sands Beach, which was within walking distance, as well as visited several other scenic spots in the York/Ogunquit area. The owners were friendly, and courteous. The worst part was having to leave at the end of the week!! We cannot wait to return again! A Perfect Thanksgiving Weekend The day after Thanksgiving, with packed turkey sandwiches, my husband, daughter and I arrived at our carriagehouse away from home and from that moment on we were in holiday heaven. The house was very comfortable and well kept. The master bedroom had a comfortable bed with plenty of warm blankets and room for clothing. My daughter loved the loft upstairs. The only minor issue was that the bathroom was a little snug but that really was not a major concern.
The kitchen had all the gadgets, plates, pots and pans we needed. And then there was the view...well, the only thing I can say is, I had trouble trying to concentrate on reading my book due to the wonderful distractions going on outside. There were waves and breakers, seagulls and ducks and other types of birds to watch, there were lobsterboats and fishing boats and the most beautiful sunrises. The owners were very nice and we even had a visit from the very friendly resident dog. The carriagehouse was very convenient to restaurants and activities. We had a great time at the lighting of Nubble Light House and did some holiday shopping in Kittery. We took a sidetrip to Portland to go on the "Polar Express" train ride and of course, had to go to the Shipyard Brewing Co. while we were there. All in all, we had a wonderful time that weekend and are hoping to make it somewhat of a tradition. I would definitely recommend the carriage house and would stay there again anytime we are in the York area.
