Lean Back and Say "Ahhh" The door's always open, and the seats are comfy. So, come in, kick your shoes off, and enjoy the good life. After the unexpected death of Rayna (Connie Britton) and the confirmation that Britton is leaving the show for good, CMT's musical drama, "Nashville," adds two new characters into the mix. As the show is on its midseason finale, showrunner Marshall Herskovitz announced that Rachel Bilson ("Hart of Dixie") and Kaitlin Doubleday ("Empire") will join "Nashville" as cast regulars. "We fondly anticipate the second half of the season filled with surprising twists and turns that make Nashville so beloved by the fans," says Herskovitz. The showrunner, however, refused to give more details about the characters that Bilson and Doubleday will portray on the second half of season 5. Meanwhile, the midseason finale of "Nashville's" fifth installment was an emotional one. Rayna's husband, Deacon (Charles Esten), and their daughters Maddie (Lennon Stella) and Daphne (Maisy Stella) are in deep grief.

Rayna's friends from her record label, Highway 65, are also mourning her death, and they have all come together to finish the deceased artist's final album. In other news, Scarlett (Clare Bowen) drops a huge bomb in the midseason finale - she is pregnant and she is unsure who the father is. This she told Gunnar (Sam Palladio), her on-and-off boyfriend, who she also cheated on with a music video director at some point. Maddie, on the other hand, got a bit of celebrity attention when she cried during her mom's tribute. Many offers came rushing in for the young lady, but Scarlett tried her best to turn them down quickly, especially since Maddie is still not over her mother's death. Deacon is also under some pressure even in his time of mourning. This is because Zach (Cameron Scoggins) wants their couple album to be out ASAP, but Deacon does not want to hurry the release. He wants to bide his time watching home movies and reading Rayna's journal. The release date of the second half of "Nashville" season 5 is still to be announced, but it is expected to premiere by summer.
