News Watch inventor take off in drone helicopter fashioned from garden chair and parasol The unnamed YouTube user has uploaded a video of his invention called 'The Swarm 'in action - and the response has been positive You'd be forgiven for thinking you were watching the film 'Up' or a scene from Wallace and Gromit when you see the footage of one man's bizarre invention. The man, known simply by his YouTube handle gasturbine101, has created a helicopter that actually flies using a garden chair, a sun parasol and 54 drones. According to the YouTube page, The Swarm cost about £6,000 to build and is powered by four cell batteries. Footage of the whacky invention has been viewed more than two million times on YouTube and it has caught the attention of flying experts and enthusiasts with some even comparing him to the Wright brothers. Speaking on his page, the inventor explained that the device was: "Just a bit of fun for my self, never intended for making a significant journey or flying much above head height."
