Parenting Special Needs Magazine ADVICE NEEDED for Special Mom I have an autistic 11-year-old daughter who is mentally at age 4, non-verbal.
She has begun puberty this past year. She has been exhibiting some violent meltdowns over the last 3-4 months, where she will scream, bite herself, hit the wall, throw things and spit. I called and got an appointment for November to see a child psychiatrist. However, with the severity of these meltdowns, I am worried that she will hurt herself, or someone else. I have been trying now for 2 weeks to get her an appointment sooner with someone else but to NO avail!!! Can anyone off me suggestions? Her primary care physician said that her hands are tied, that we need to see a child psychiatrist. Parenting Special Needs Magazine Why Family Time Matters!!
