This is a beautiful beach on the 'quiet' side of Key West. Palm trees for shade, nice sand (not white powder, but not rocky either), no crowds, shallow turquoise water (wear swim shoes due to coral & seagrass). Watch pelicans and other seabirds, & jet skis going by. A bit too shallow & sandy/murky for snorkeling (try Fort Zachary Tailor... We had our ceremony here (Weddings to go Key West was great too) and it was amazing. Plenty of parking, white sand beach, clean and wonderful. We did not visit all the beaches in KW, but quite a few. And this was by far the best - eg less pebbles and stones in the water. We had windy conditions on the day, so the water was not very clear, but not any worse than the others either. In the southern end you'll find all the amenities... Across form our hotel at the Sheraton. Clean and food trucks or restaurants along the strip. You can rent chairs and umbrellas or not. We just went for a swim. Can park for free along the Boulevard Beautiful wide, white sand beach.

Get some shade too with the palms. Good parking across and on the street. Not good for swimming though. Water is shallow and bottom is very mucky. On Good Friday I had my wedding at Smather's Beach and it was wonderful! This is a great beach to have a wedding or just go and play.
