J BERG, STOCKHOLM  A FINE MID-19th CENTURY SI PHILIPS, LONDON AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY 12” TERREST Globo celeste, sistema Copérnico, fabricado por Charles Francois Delamarche (Francia 1740 - 1811). Este globo fue fabricado entre 1808 y 1811, esta referencia se desprende de la cartela del globo, donde está la información de donde estaba ubicada la casa Delamarche de Paris en ese momento “Rue de Jardinet 12”. La estructura del globo es una esfera de cartón enteramente recubierta de estuco sobre el cual se pegaron 12 husos completos y dos casquetes polares de papel impreso, con dos anillos (Horizonte y Meridiano) hechos en estuco sobre cartón, cubierto de papel barnizado, apoyado sobre una base de madera torneada de donde salen cuatro brazos que lo sostienen señalando los principales puntos geográficos de la época.
El anillo vertical con inscripción “MERIDIEN” nos señala los grados de altura de los Polos, mientras que el anillo Horizonte nos señala los meses del año, los puntos cardinales y los signos zodiacales. Pequeñas averías y desgastes. Medidas: alto total 26 cm, diámetro total 15,5 cm, diámetro de la esfera 10,7 cm. Los grandes maestros para mediados del siglo XVII fueron Nicolas Sanson y Gillies Robert Vaugondy, quien fuera cartógrafo del Rey Luis XV; estos ejercen gran influencia sobre los conocimientos de Charles F. Delamarche y su trabajos, dado que el hijo de Gillies R. Vaugondy, Didier Robert Vaugondy trabaja y hereda todo el conocimiento de su padre y pasa a ser el cartógrafo más importante del momento hasta su muerte que le traspasa toda la información y la cartografía a Charles F. Delamarche, asi se convierte en el sucesor y heredero de toda esta línea de cartógrafos. La casa Delamarche en el Siglo XIX fue muy importante y fue sucedida por su hijo Félix y su socio Chareles Dien y luego por su nieto Alexander Delamarche.
